The 3 most common sump pump problems are: the pump breaks down and stops working, the pump cannot keep up with the fast flow and cannot pump too much water or the house suffered a power failure and the pump stops working.
If you have the same problem as it was for our Dewittville customer, we have the TripleSafe system that contains 3 different pumps to address each of these 3 risks. The first one operates under normal conditions, the second one starts when the first one cannot follow the flow and volume, and the last one is a booster pump which starts on a battery during a power failure! Problem fixed!
Mr. Bissonnette's basement was in a very poor condition. For 2 years, its foundation has been moving slightly and this has created cracks in its foundation, but also a subsidence of its floor on the main floor.
In order to solve the problem of floor saging, our experts installed a SmartJack support to support the floor joist system and stabilize the beam in a way that will raise the floor above the basement to its original position. . It creates a solid base specially designed to distribute the weight of the house.
It’s no secret that wet weather floods the basement. But dry weather is a part of the problem too.
In periods of drought, the soil shrinks away from the foundation, leaving voids for the next rain to easily flow down into your basement before they close up.
Average rainfall means an average of wet periods and dry periods.
The best thing to do when faced with water infiltration is to waterproof it!
Our products will guarantee that your area remains dry even in the toughest periods!
In this basement in Carignan, we have installed the best products available in the market.
Our interior drainage system ‘The WaterGuard’ had been installed to drain all the water from the walls and floors. Even in basements that are already finished, it is still much easier to waterproof from inside than from outside.
In addition, Our SuperSump pump was connected to the Waterguard, to push all the water outside the basement, in the safest and most efficient way.
We have received a call from a client in Saint-Amable informing us that she is having problems when it rains a lot or when the snow melts, since the water level rises and humidifies the surrounding.
She actually wanted to put a camera in the floor drain that is next to the hole, because she has already placed a pump in the hole to drain the water into the floor drain, but the floor drain was not working properly when there was any flow. So she wanted to know if the floor drain is clogged.
Our SuperSump sump pump system is the solution! This very powerful pump has been installed to intercept water where it seeps. Thus, once the hole is blocked and the pump installed, the space in the basement is protected against infiltration because this pump has been connected to the floor drain.
We are happy to have been able to solve the problem of our client!
Before our work started, our experts discovered several problems in this crawl space:
- A cold and wet crawl space
- Split wooden support beams
- Rusty support pillars
- Water infiltration
The danger was that the weight of the house split the wooden beams and the humidity in the crawl space caused the supporting pillars to rust. These factors threatened the support of the entire house.
In order to solve the foundation problem, our experts added 3 additional wooden beams to the existing ones in order to properly support and distribute the weight of the house. They dug in places in the crawl space to install a total of 10 SmartJack support pillars. They are made from galvanized steel and are used to stabilize and level beams and floor joists in the crawl space. Then, to remedy the water infiltration problem, the customer already had a working sump pump so our experts installed a stamped polyethylene drainage membrane that allows water to flow to the sump pump. . To finalize it, they laid our CleanSpace coating on top of the drainage membrane as an insulating layer. This coating has several functions, including preventing water from the floor from evaporating and creating humidity in the crawl space.
Our client will no longer have to worry about his crawl space or his foundation. His crawl space is now clean and dry and its foundation leveled and stabilized.
Mr. Cloutier contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec, because his exterior drain was no longer working and there was water infiltration in his basement. On big rainy days, he might have nearly an inch of water in his basement. He was looking for a solution to waterproof his basement so that it remains dry at all times.
Our solution for our client was to install our TripleSafe sump pump system. It is the most efficient as it contains 3 pumps including a battery back-up pump, in case of a power failure. Finally, our experts installed our WaterGuard interior drain system. They dug a trench all along the basement walls to put in some gravel and then our WaterGuard. It collects water from the floor and walls and directs it directly to the existing sump pump system.
