Our client had a humidity problem in his crawl space. It was so strong that even the joists of the house began to weaken. In order to solve the problem at source, we installed two insulation membranes for the crawl space.

A Drainage Matting to evacuate the water that evaporates from the ground to a sump pump specially designed for crawl spaces. Another membrane (CleanSpace) is placed in order to insulate the crawl space and prevent water vapor from spreading. This membrane reduces humidity in the crawl space and protects the house from mold increasing.

Thanks to Système Sous-sol Québec, our client now benefits from a protected house and a well-insulated crawl space.

Ms. Méndez contacted us to repair her crawl space. We had to support its floor because it was sagging and to encapsulate the crawl space because there was moisture. We installed SmartJack galvanized steel beams to reinforce the floor structure. Then, in order to properly isolate the crawl space from the outside air, we covered the walls with insulating panels. Next, we encapsulated the crawl space with a drainage membrane and a vapor barrier membrane to prevent moisture from rising to the upper floors. The remaining moisture will drain into the sump pump system that we installed.

Whenever we work on the waterproofing and encapsulation of a crawl space, we are happy to see how this space is transformed from an earthen place with moist air into a dry, clean and bright space that can be used for useful purposes. This adds more usable space to your home and increases its value. Not only can you use it to store your seasonal items, but the air becomes dry and of better quality because the CleanSpace vapor barrier membrane contains an antibacterial additive that prevents the formation and proliferation of bacteria and molds and blocks water vapor. Thus, the air that moves from your crawl space to the upper floors is healthy for your health. We are happy to have completed another crawl space encapsulation project in Sainte-Dorothée!

Job Stories From Laval, QC
Supporting a basement in Montreal, Qc

Mrs. Méndez's crawl space had a dirt floor, which is not good because the dirt releases a lot of moisture. In addition, Her floor was sagging so it needed to be reinforced. Our workers therefore installed galvanized steel beams to support the floor. Next, they installed a drainage membrane and a vapor barrier membrane to lock in the moisture and drain it into the new sump pump system they installed. We have also installed thermal insulation panels to properly insulate the indoor air.

Walls cracks and water infiltration in a basement in Laval, Qc

We have received a call from the Bureau de consultation Jeunesse and Alerte telling us about their basement problem.

During their call, they had informed us that they noticed a high level of humidty in the area, and when they checked up the place, they realized that there were some walls cracks in the basement.

To solve this issue, we repaired the walls by injecting our FlexiSpan and our polyurethane isolant. The wall cracks repaired with the FlexiSpan and the polyurethane injection if both injected, are guaranteed against infiltration for 25 years.

We start by sealing the crack with a high-viscosity polyurethane polymer. This gets deep in the cracks to form a durable, flexible seal.

After the wall crack has been repaired, the concrete floor is restored flush, with no gaps or openings. The end result of the FlexiSpan installation is a professional-looking, top-performing basement wall crack repair that includes a written warranty.

Now that the work is done, this basement is no longer wet nor humid, thanks to our amazing products.

Water infiltartion in a basement in Laval, Qc

Our client Anita had noticed some small water infiltrations in his basement. In order to prevent the problem from getting worse over time, she decided to fix the problem by bringing in several contractors.

So she finally chose to do business with Système Sous-sol Québec, because our system will be installed from the inside and does not require external excavation work.

To prevent water infiltration, our specialist suggested the WaterGuard drainage around the entire perimeter of the Basement. This way, water infiltration is collected and then redirected to the sump pump system.

Our sump pump system is one of the best in the market, it has two pumps that work in parallel. During the period of strong floods or thaw, the owners often have infiltrations because their pumps are not efficient enough.

In addition,it has a third pump that works with a battery that allows you to evacuate the water even if a storm deprives you of electricity.

Thanks to these solutions, our client benefits from a basement protected against water infiltration.

A wet crawl space in Laval, Qc

Mrs. Trottier had moisture problems in her crawl space. A rate of 82% was detected during the free inspection by our specialist. There were also water infiltration, iron ocher and structural issues.

The solution was to encapsulate the crawl space with our CleanSpace drainage membrane and liner to reduce humidity, install an efficient, reliable sump pump system that will work even in case of a power outage, and then lay our SmartJack pillars to reinforce the structure of the house.

Water infiltration issues in a basement in Laval, Qc

Our client in Laval had water infiltration in his basement every time it rains. A puddle of water was forming in his basement making it wet. Bad odors were also developing, giving it a musty smell and feeling.

To solve this problem, Richard contacted various contractors in order to offer him a solution. Systèmes Sous-sol Québec was the only contractor that has offered him a solution which does not require an excavation. Drains are placed inside to collect the water that infiltrates.

After making an appointment with one of our specialists, a solution was proposed to him that consists of the installation of WaterGuard drain on the entire internal perimeter of the basement. This way, the water is directly collected before it seeps into the basement. This solution offers many advantages because it does not clog due to mud deposits compared to conventional French drains.

In order to evacuate the recovered water, a SuperSump sump pump system is also installed. It has a cast iron primary pump with another battery powered pump.

Our evacuation systems are also innovative, an Iceguard outlet is ideal during the winter. It is beneficial in a way that frost will not disturb the evacuation of accumulated water in the basement.

Thanks to these solutions, our client benefits from a basement that is protected against water damages.

Humidity in a crawl space in Laval, Qc

Our client Peter had a poorly insulated crawl space. He wanted to find a solution to fix it and reduce the existing humidity. It was so bad that even the joists began to sag.

This happens normally when the earth is not covered, and constantly gives off moisture. It will promote the development of mold that will attack the wood. Over time, the wooden joists of the house weaken and in extreme cases require expensive replacement.

To solve the problem, our client researched the internet and compared several solutions. He chose Systèmes Sous-sol Québec to solve his problem for good!

Our specialist went to our client’s house and offered him a solution.

We took the time to fully understand the issues and then offered our client a free written estimate.

In order to solve the problem of our client, we installed a Drainage Matting to provide support for the membrane. Drainage Matting also helps drain water that evaporates from the soil. Then we added a CleanSpace membrane to insulate the soil and reduce the humidity.

To drain the water that can accumulate below the membrane, we have installed a sump pump designed specifically for crawl spaces. It allows the accumulated water to be released outside the house.

Thanks to these solutions, our customer is protected against moisture damages and will benefit from a well-insulated area.

Old and inefficient pumps in Laval ,Qc

We got a call from Guy, about a water infiltration problem in his basement.

Yet Guy had two pumps already installed, but he was shocked to see lots of water and dampness in his basement.

Our specialist paid him a visit and explained to him what his problem was:

The pumps are old and defective, in addition, the pipe that brings the water out of the house is blocked over time which has destroyed the pumps.

We had to change the pumps, the entire water pipe and protected the pipe with an IceGuard and a LawnScape Outlet as a guaranteed finish.

We installed our SuperSump  pump system at a customer’s house in Fabreville, Laval in 2020 and he loved it! The SuperSump contains a Zoeller sump pump in 1 coating. It is a very reliable and silent system to continue to protect your basement.

The SuperSump is an effective and economical solution for keeping the basement dry. The system contains a Zoeller 1/3 HP cast iron sump pump capable of pumping 8300 liters of water per hour at a height of 8 feet. Plus, you can add the UltraSump backup pump that provides additional protection in case of a power outage. Finally, we installed a discharge line that evacuates the water away from the house.

Sagging crawl space in Laval,Qc

The crawl space of Ms. Leblanc's house, hadwooden and concrete columns that supported the floor joists. However, its crawl space is so wet and within time the concrete has worn and the wooden columns had difficulty keeping in place.

Ms. Leblanc contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec to have our SmartJack beams installed to reinforce the floor joists. They are adjustable and allow the floor to straighten over time. Made of galvanized steel, they will not rust. It is also necessary to encapsulate the crawl space with a good coating in order to reduce humidity for a drier and healthier crawl space.

Insulate the walls of a basement with Foamax in Laval, Qc

Mr. Demuy has an uninsulated basement under his garage with concrete walls and floors. He wanted to turn this space into a storage place, but he feared the humidity that was there and seeked to insulate his walls from his basement. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec in order to have a reliable and efficient solution.

To insulate the walls of his basement, our experts installed our Foamax insulating panels. They are made of high performance polyisocyanurate foam coated with a white finish on one side and a vapor barrier on the back. They provide comfort, superior insulation and make walls appear cleaner and brighter.

The walls of his basement are now insulated and Mr. Demuy will be able to finish the work and use his new storage space.

Dampness in a crawl space in Laval, Qc

Mrs. Dube contacted us to have an inspection on her crawl space since she never goes in there and is uncertain of the situation.

Our specialist Jerry went out there to find a large amount of mold and high humidity. Following our client’s approval, we encapsulated this crawl space by installing our CleanSpace vapor barrier that will prevent moisture by separating the house from the ground. An antimicrobial ingredient is also present in the vapor barrier to prevent bacteria from reproducing.

Underneath it we have also installed our drainage mat that will allow water to flow to the sump pump.

After the installation, Mrs. Dube reached out for us to tell us how happy she was with our work!

Basement Waterproofing in Saint-Jean-Chrysostome, QC

Our Clients noticed that water was coming through the walls in their home's basement. In order to ensure that this water infiltration would not lead to a more serious problem, our clients decided to search on the Internet for a company and found Systèmes Sous-sol Québec, a company located in Laval, which specializes in basement waterproofing.

Following their call, our company sent one of our specialists in water infiltration, Eugene Alexeenco, to inspect their basement. Eugene advised them to install a WaterGuard interior drainage system to prevent water from seeping in through the walls of our client's residence, a CleanSpace Wall membrane, a Supersump sump pump system, and an Iceguard system.

Our client’s problem is now resolved. There is no more water infiltrating their basement and they can now have the peace of mind and benefit from this large living space.
