Mr. Duquette recently bought a house in Massueville. After inspecting his crawl space, he noticed that his crawl space was cold and wet, that there was water seepage, some of the support pillars were rusted, and the support beams split. In the rooms of his house, he felt high humidity and a slight odor of mold. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec to fix this situation before a major problem arises.
Our specialist went to the site to inspect the premises. He saw that the weight of the house cracked the wooden beams, and the moisture in the crawl space rusted the supporting pillars. These factors threatened the support of the entire house.
In order to solve the foundation problem, our experts added 3 additional wooden beams to the existing ones to properly support the weight of the house. They dug in places in the crawl space to install a total of 10 SmartJack support pillars. They are made from galvanized steel and are used to stabilize and level beams and floor joists in the crawl space. Then, to fix the water infiltration problem, the customer already had a working sump pump so our experts installed a stamped polyethylene drainage membrane that allows water to flow to the sump pump. . To finalize, they laid our CleanSpace coating on top of the drainage membrane as an insulating layer. This coating has several functions, including preventing water from the floor from evaporating and creating humidity in the crawl space.
Our client was happy with the work done and he will no longer have to worry about his crawl space or his foundation. His crawl space is now clean and dry and its foundation is leveled and stabilized.
