Due to his house located near the lake in Quebec City, our client’s basement was left exposed to floods and water has been penetrating his basement causing severe humidity problems and molds all over the walls.

Furthermore, our professionals have opted for WaterGuard drainage system which is the ideal choice for waterproofing and designed to sit on top of the footing, so that it will never clog, unlike the usual French drain system that might catch all the dirt from the floor.

Job Stories From Quebec, QC
An old and inefficient sump pump in Quebec!

We keep repeating to all our customers, a sump pump should not just sit in a sump pit. We have found that many customers in Quebec have old sump pump systems that are becoming problematic and we are happy that we are the experts who can eliminate these problems through high performance systems.

The receptacle, lid, and interior of the sump pump system are as important as the pump itself. The pump should be rested on a support so that sediments entering the water do not end up preventing the pump from operating over time. In addition, the cover must be watertight to prevent water, moisture and other objects from coming out or coming in and harming the sump pump.

We have several sump pump systems that vary in functionality, capacity, number of pumps present indoors and in price. If you experience minor or major seepage, an interior drainage system that intercepts water at its entry point and redirects water to a sump pump system is a solution that addresses the basement problem at its source.

Water infiltration problems in a basement in Pointes-Aux-Trembles

Having a wet basement is not only annoying, but it might affect badly on the entire house’s condition and the health of its residents.

Mr. Denis and his wife realized that water was constantly getting inside their basement, and wanted to find the appropriate solution to solve this issue without having to damage the structure of their place and waste all their time and money.

So they started surfing all over the internet, searching for companies that deal with similar issues.

When they found Systèmes Sous-sol Québec, they saw the number of jobs perfectly done by our team in the same areas and all over Quebec, and the great customer’s feedback and reviews.

But when our clients called us, they were a bit worried about the execution time, since they wanted to finish fast since due to traveling.

So our team reassured them that the installation will take only a few days, and we could start ASAP if needed!

After our client’s approval on our proposed quotations, our team started the work and installed the following:

An interior drain’ The Waterguard’ to receive all the coming come in, which is installed on the base of the foundation on a bed of rocks that filter and slow down the flow of water;  a SuperSump pump system to pump all the water out, and a CleanSpace to block water vapor.

The CleanSpace is created from high-density polyethylene. Polyester cord reinforcement allows it to be mechanically fastened to the walls so it will never fall off.

Here is another successful waterproofing job was done in Quebec!

Crawl Space repair in SouthWest

Mr. Giroux, a SouthWest resident noticed some cracks in the drywall throughout the house, off the corners of the doors. In addition, he realized that his house floor was sagging and there was a severe moisture problem causing bad smells in the house and affecting his health.

After finding our company on Google, our client contacted us and following his call we sent a team of Professionals to perform a complete encapsulation of the crawl space.

We have completely isolated his Crawl Space with our CleanSpace membrane, our SmartSump pump system in order to ensure that water is drained from the crawlspace and our SaniDry dehumidifier.

Our team has also installed a SmartJack column in order to solve sagging and bouncy floor problems in the upper floor, which obviously originated in the crawl space.

After the installation, Mr. Giroux’s Problems were fixed permanently and he was very happy that Basement systems Quebec has encapsulated his crawl space area.

Mr. Lofranco from Pointe-St-Charles had problems with cold floors and unpleasant odors from his crawl space. Actually, when the Crawl Space is not encapsulated, the cold, moist air from the floor spreads around the house, transferring all the bad odors that are unpleasant for locals.

Mr. Lofranco then decided to deal with Basement Systems Quebec to solve all his problems.

Following the inspection of our specialist, the client decided to accept the suggestion to install a CleanSpace  membrane, SilverGlo insulation panels to reflect heat back into your crawl space for ultimate energy savings, a Smart pump system and a SaniDry dehumidifier which is not just any Dehumidifier, but it’s the only machine that will get the best results and will dry any Crawl Space no matter how damp it is and will keep it this way.

This solution pleased this resident of Pointe St Charle because it has solved his Crawl Space problems in a short time and for a reasonable investment.

Basement Waterproofing in Quebec City

Mrs. Catherine moved to her house in Quebec City a few years ago and started having regular water infiltration problems in her basement, where water started to penetrate in at the cold joints between the basement slab and the foundation cement walls. As a result, moisture started to aggravate damaging her furniture, causing unpleasant odors, and mold growth.

This resident of Quebec City decided to search on the Internet for a company that could help her with her basement waterproofing issue. After some research, Mrs. Catherine found Systèmes Sous-sol Québec; a company which specializes in basement waterproofing.

Soon after calling the company for the first time, Mrs. Catherine had one of our specialists in water infiltration, Michel Lecrec, inspect her basement. Michel advised her to install a WaterGuard interior drainage system to prevent water from seeping in through the walls of the client's residence. The WaterGuard system is a drainage system that collects water infiltrating through the foundation walls and channels it to a sump pump that drains the water out of the residence.

Mrs. Catherine’s problem is now resolved. There is no more water infiltrating her basement and can now have the peace of mind and benefit from this large living space, without having to worry about her furniture being damaged anymore.

Basement Waterproofing in Quebec City

A couple of years ago, our client has moved to this beautiful house in Quebec City and started having regular water infiltration problems in his basement, especially in Spring. Water would infiltrate in at the cold joints between the basement slab and the foundation cement walls, despite having a French Drain system installed and an external pump connected to the agricultural drain.

The homeowner called several contractors who advised him to reinstall or fix the French Drain. Knowing that the system never worked properly in the first place, our client did not want to waste any more money and invest in something that might fail again and cause him more problems.

After doing a thorough internet search for basement waterproofing companies, our client found us on Google and decided to call us for a free inspection for his basement especially after seeing a lot of positive feedback from our clients in the city.

Following his call, our company sent one of our specialists Michel Lecrec who did a full and thorough inspection on the inside and outside of the home, and recommended to install an internal drainage system called the WaterGuard, on most of the basement walls. In addition, he advised him to replace the old sump pump, with the TripleSafe, our company’s most reliable system that comes with a battery backup in case a circuit has tripped, the power has stopped, or of a sump failure.

Our client was very satisfied and happy with our company’s work since he did not face any water infiltration problems in his basement. Whereas the WaterGuard and the TripleSafe did an amazing job and ensured the basement of our client stayed dry.

Basement Waterproofing in Quebec City

Our clients owned a historical house in Quebec City and lived in it for several years until problems started to occur in their basement. Water was infiltrating inside the wall bricks and on the floors and they started having a very high level of humidity in their basement.

Mrs. Christine has made lots of research over the internet where she checked our work and saw all of the positive comments from our previous customers. And that’s when she decided to contact our company.

Following her call, we sent her our specialist Mr. Michel Lecrec to inspect her basement.  He informed her that her sump pump wasn’t working properly and the high humidity level was caused due to an open sump pump pit. In addition, and since her house was very old, and didn’t have any French drain, he has recommended the installation of an interior drain, the WaterGuard, our companies’ ideal choice for waterproofing.

Our technicians then proceeded to replace the old pump with the new SuperSump sump pump system that comes with an airtight sump lid keeping the odors and humidity out, while protecting our client’s sump pump from debris from the basement floor, which was one of the problems disturbing them.

In addition, our team has installed the Waterguard systems, which is an interior drainage system that channels the water to the SuperSump. Also, this French drain never clogs, unlike the usual French drain used and is offered with a lifetime warranty.

We were extremely happy to be able to offer these homeowners in Quebec City the best solution to ensure their peace of mind!

Basement Waterproofing in Quebec City

Mr. Fancois B bought a historical house situated near the lake in Quebec City years ago, and due to this location, our client’s basement was left exposed to floods and water has been penetrating his basement causing severe humidity and moisture problems in addition to mold growth that was affecting our client’s health badly.

After many research over the internet, Mr. Francois has found that many people living in the same area were having the same issues, and he has reviewed that most of Basement Systems Clients had positive feedback and their problems were solved permanently. Furthermore, he directly contacted our company and asked for an inspection of his basement.

Following his call, our company sent Maxime Mathieu and recommended to install a WaterGuard drainage system, which is an interior system that doesn’t clog since it’s built in 3/8 -inch gap between the floor and the wall to drain water leaks, and has a big drain outlet to the sump, preventing any structural damage to the foundation.

Mr.Francois was very happy since his problem was fixed permanently, and he never suffered again from any mold and moisture problems and the best part is that he was also able to monitor his basement since the WaterGuard system is easily serviceable all year round.

Sump Pump Installation in St-Lazare, QC

With so much Iron Ochre or Ferrous Ochre problems in St-Lazare, phone calls from clients with water infiltration problems in the basement are regular for us. This was the case of this client who regularly had problems with her existing sump pumps, even with 2 pumps installed in the pit.

Iron Ochre forms when iron in the ground water supply in areas such as St-Lazare has contact with air, helping form a very dense gelatinous mass that clogs anything from French drains, to sump pumps etc.

Our client had sub-par plastic pumps that did not function well, and no alarm system, which meant she only knew that she had a problem when it was too late, and the water had infiltrated her basement.

We recommended to install the best sump system in Quebec, the TripleSafe. It not only comes with 2 main Zoller cast-iron pumps (cast-iron is the best choice), an UltraSump Battery Backup System and most importantly in our client's case, a WaterWatch Alarm system to let our client know when all pumps malfunction (when the water level reaches the alarm sensor).

Sump pumps in St-Lazare will defnitely get clogged, and as such we recommend cleaning the French Drain and the sump pumps at least once every 3 months.

Fixing basement water infiltration problems in Montreal, Quebec

This family had a basement water infiltration problem since they bought their house in 2000. Unfortunately, the existing pedestal pump could not solve the problem of water seeping through the joints between foundation walls and footing.

The fact that the pump broke down without a way for owners to know it, made this situation even more difficult. Water dripped regularly on the floor and it was impossible to keep the basement dry and to use it as storage space. The humidity level was also very high which damaged the wood and hardware.

Our solution included installing our internal drain system the WaterGuard, the only alternative to French drains and which is guaranteed for the life of the house. The drain was connected to our SuperSump sump pump, which pumps 2,200 gallons of water per hour at a head of 8 feet and is equipped with an alarm system so the owners know if the pump stops working.

In addition, we installed one of our vapor barrier systems, the CleanSpace, on the basement walls, a membrane which helps lower the moisture level and directs water wicking through the basement walls down to the WaterGuard.

This family could now benefit from a dry basement, all the time! Basement Systems Quebec is proud to have fixed the water infiltration problems for many home owners in Montreal, permanently!
