Ms. Dalpé had water infiltration in her crawl space, no drainage system nor a sump pump to evacuate the water. There was some plastic liner to protect the dirt floor, but it was not airtight and lets a lot of moisture through.
When she got worried about her health due to the increase of mold and humidity in the area, she contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Qc to get a free inspection of her crawl space.
To solve this problem, our team encapsulated the crawl space by installing our drainage membrane and Cleanspace liner on the floor. They have also installed a SmartSump sump pump system.
With this solution, this crawl space will be much drier, less humid and without any mold.
Mr. Achachi had moisture problems in his basement. He could see in some places on his basement walls traces of water and that meant that there was water seeping through the foundation walls in his basement. One of the causes was the presence of cracks in the foundation walls that allowed water and moisture to seep into the basement. If left unchecked, there will be mold growth, rotting organic materials and more.
In order to solve Mr. Achachi's problems, our experts first sealed these cracks with our FlexiSpan solution. Next, we installed a SuperSump sump pump system which includes a 1 / 2HP cast iron Zoeller pump. This way the soil water is drained outside away from the house and it can reduce the humidity in the basement. And then a WaterGuard foundation interior drain was laid over the foundation footing. This collects the water coming from the walls and which may be on the surface of the ground to direct it towards the SuperSump to evacuate it.
The couple that lives in this House in Repentigny, continually suffered from problems caused by the crawl space under the house.
