This crawl space in Saint-Hippolyte was not insulated and there was a lot of water leakage and humidity in the area that was affecting the wooden support beams and putting them in threat of getting ruined.
When we went to check this area, our specialist Michel, therefore, recommended a complete solution to waterproof, isolate, encapsulate and solidify this crawl space which was in bad condition.
As a start, we have installed the SmartSump sump pump system and a SmartDrain to collect run-off water at this location and evacuate to the sump pump.
We insulated the walls with SilverGlo insulation made of graphite particles that reflect heat inwards as for the floor with TerraBlock panels to block water vapor.
Finally, we encapsulated the crawl space with the CleanSpace membrane which a vapor barrier and contains an antibacterial additive that prevents the proliferation of bacteria and molds. To provide additional support to the foundation, we installed a galvanized steel SmartJacks support pillar to prevent it from rusting or oxidation.

Mr. Toupin has lived in his house for 10 years. He used his crawl space to store some goods and needed to use more. Above all, he wanted to eliminate the humidity that was there so not to damage his personal effects. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec in order to have a reliable and permanent solution.
The floor of the crawl space is mud and moisture from the floor was also spreading into the crawl space. So the solution for our client was to install our drainage membrane on the earth floor and then lay our CleanSpace coating on top. The humidity is therefore blocked by the CleanSpace which allows the crawl space to be dry. It also gives it a clear appearance.

Since he recommended a cost estimation to fix this problem, we sent our specialist Peter who is a specialist in crawl space. Peter has noticed that there is a lot of water seepage and water vapor that evaporates into the air which was making the environment humid and affecting badly on the organic building such as the support beams and wooden joists existing, putting them in danger of deteriorating
Our specialist therefore recommended a complete solution to waterproof, isolate, encapsulate and solidify this crawl space and fix this problem permanently.
We started our work by installing our company’s sump pump which is the SmartSump sump pump system as well as a SmartDrain floor drain at the lowest point on the floor to collect run-off water at this location and evacuate to the sump pump. We insulated the walls with SilverGlo insulation made and the floors with the TerraBlock panels specially designed to be installed on the dirt floor to block water vapor.
In addition, a CleanSpace membrane was installed which a vapor barrier and contains an antibacterial additive that prevents the proliferation of bacteria and molds.
Since we needed to support the foundation, we installed a galvanized steel SmartJacks support pillar, and finally we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier which is a very important element to control the highest moisture in a crawl space, empties automatically and it's rated EnergyStar!
Since the installation took place, this crawl space remained dry all the time, mold proof and our client was more at peace!
