Mr. Clement had problems with the block foundation walls of his house. They had a long horizontal crack in the middle and they were starting to curve inward into the basement. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Qc for a free evaluation of the work.
Our solution was to stabilize and reinforce the foundation walls with our steel PowerBrace beams. They even allow the straightening of the walls over time.
Our client had a complex water infiltration problem in his basement. The water came in through the staircase and did not seem to have an apparent source. This infiltration has caused several damages in the wood, which has started to rot, with also mold starting to appear.
To overcome the problem of mold and rotting finish wood, you must prevent water from seeping into the basement.
Several solutions exist on the market, but are not effective, such as the external French drain which always ends up clogging and lets water infiltrate even after ten years, and sometimes less depending on certain types of soil.

The solution was to encapsulate the crawl space with our CleanSpace drainage membrane and our vapor barrier then install additional SmartJack support pillars to reinforce the structure of the house and straighten the sagging floor.
