Crawl Space Encapsulation in Sainte-Elizabeth-De-Warwick, Quebec
Challenge
A homeowner in Sainte-Elizabeth-De-Warwick, Quebec, contacted us after noticing excess humidity and musty odors coming from their crawl space. In addition, groundwater accumulation were leading to water infiltration through the soil floor. These conditions created a high risk of structural deterioration, wood rot, and mold proliferation.
Solution
To address both the water infiltration and the humidity issues, we implemented a comprehensive crawl space encapsulation system including:
1. Drainage Matting: Installed directly over the earth floor. This high-density layer creates drainage channels that direct any water infiltration toward the discharge lines. It also provides structural support for the vapor barrier placed above.
2. CleanSpace Vapor Barrier: Over the drainage matting, we installed our CleanSpace liner. This membrane creates an airtight and watertight seal. The CleanSpace system effectively isolates the home from ground moisture and significantly regulates humidity levels in the crawl space.
3. SmartDrain Water Leak Detection: To manage unexpected plumbing failures, we integrated our SmartDrain system. It is designed to intercept leaking water and direct it into the designated discharge line.
This project not only resolved immediate water infiltration issues but also future-proofed the crawl space against any structural damage and air quality concerns.
