Basement Waterproofing in Fortierville, Quebec

Challenge

Persistent moisture issues inside the Basement of an old House in Chesterville, Quebec: The absence of a French drain, combined with the lack of a sump pump system, was causing water accumulation during heavy rains and snowmelt. This situation led to increasing humidity levels, risk of mold growth, and gradual deterioration of materials exposed to water and moisture.

Solution

We implemented a complete interior waterproofing and moisture control solution. First, we installed our patented WaterGuard system, an interior drainage positioned along the perimeter at the base of the walls, directly on the concrete slab. This interior drainage system is designed to capture water infiltration. WaterGuard was installed quickly and did not require any exterior excavation.

To capture any water infiltration through the foundation walls, we installed a drainage matting, which directs water straight into the drainage system.

On top of this membrane, we applied the CleanSpace Wall, a thick and high-performance vapor barrier. This liner blocks humidity and significantly improves air quality in the basement, and thus throughout the home.

The water collected by the drainage system is then routed to our SuperSump sump pump system, a reliable and efficient product equipped with a battery backup pump to provide peace of mind even during power outages.

Thanks to this intervention, the basement is now fully protected against water infiltration and is in perfect condition for finishing.
