Crawl space insulation in Saint Thomas, Quebec

Challenge

Before our intervention, the crawl space of this property located in Saint Thomas showed significant signs of deterioration. Excessive moisture, insufficient insulation, and unpleasant odors made this space unhealthy, promoting mold growth and the gradual deterioration of the foundation. These conditions compromised not only indoor comfort but also the structural integrity of the building.

Solution

To resolve this issue, our team completely encapsulated the crawl space by installing our specialized CleanSpace membrane. This membrane, designed to resist moisture damage, was carefully laid to create a waterproof barrier between the ground and the ambient air. This technical solution aims to prevent water vapor from entering and effectively insulate the space, thereby limiting condensation and mold growth.  

 

Once the work was completed, the crawl space became a dry, clean, and perfectly insulated space. The installation of the CleanSpace system significantly improved the air quality inside the house, reducing the risk of allergies and unpleasant odors. In addition, the enhanced insulation helped improve energy efficiency by reducing heat loss through the floor and lowering heating costs. Finally, protecting the foundation from excessive moisture ensures greater structural durability and limits the need for repairs in the long term.
