Photo Album: Water Leak Inspection and Foundation Protection in Saint-Sylvere, QC
A comprehensive basement waterproofing project was carried out in Saint-Sylvere to address water infiltration, moisture issues, and water accumulation caused by hydrostatic pressure around the foundation. The project began with excavation and preparation of the interior perimeter of the basement, followed by cutting into the concrete slab along the foundation walls to allow for the installation of the interior drainage system. A WaterGuard® drain was then installed to capture water from the ground and walls before it entered the living space, and connected to a retention tank with a TripleSafe® sump pump to ensure reliable and continuous water removal. Once the pumping system was installed and connected, a discharge line was run to the exterior of the property to carry water away from the foundation. An IceGuard® system was added to the discharge line to prevent backflow caused by freezing or winter blockages. Finally, the excavated areas were backfilled and the concrete was restored, leaving a complete, durable, and effective interior drainage system.
Water leaks and moisture in the basement
First image of the project showing a basement affected by water seepage, visible moisture, and signs of water on the floor and foundation walls. This situation indicates a problem with inadequate drainage and a risk of structural damage as well as mold growth.
Internal foundation drain
Installation of a WaterGuard® interior drain to collect water seeping around the foundation. This basement drainage system intercepts water beneath the slab and along the walls to prevent moisture, leaks, and structural damage caused by water pressure.
High-performance sump pump
Installation of a TripleSafe® sump pump to ensure continuous and reliable drainage of accumulated water. This basement pumping system provides protection against flooding, heavy rain, and power outages thanks to its multiple safety features.
Frost protection for the drainage system
The IceGuard® system is installed on the discharge line to prevent backflow caused by freezing or blockages in the exterior pipe. This device ensures continuous drainage of water from the basement, even in winter, and enhances the reliability of the foundation drainage system.
