Encapsulating a damp crawl space in Vallee-Jonction, Quebec
A client in Vallee-Jonction, Quebec had concerns regarding their crawl space, which was experiencing humidity and unpleasant odors. Upon inspection, our specialist identified signs of compromised structural integrity, including presence of mold spores, which is a clear sign of excessive moisture levels within the crawl space.
To resolve the problem, we implemented the CleanSpace encapsulation system, which involved the installation of drainage matting and a high-performance vapor barrier. These two components work synergistically to regulate humidity levels, prevent the infiltration of water, and inhibit the evaporation of moisture from the soil. As a result, the crawl space is now fully encapsulated, dry, and secure, safeguarding the structural integrity of the home.
Floor stabilization in Lac-Megantic, Quebec
In Lac-Megantic, many homeowners encounter a common problem: floors that sag, creak, or bounce, often due to weakened joists in the crawl space. In this house, the instability of the beams was visible and worrisome, prompting the owners to seek a reliable solution to ensure the safety and comfort of their home.
To address this problem, we installed the SmartJack® system, specially designed to stabilize floor beams and joists and effectively straighten sagging floors. This intervention not only eliminates bounce and tilt, but also permanently reinforces the structure of the house.
Thanks to the galvanized steel used in the installation, the house now has a solid and durable foundation capable of supporting the floors over the long term. This solution provides homeowners with peace of mind, comfort, and safety for years to come.

The basement stayed dry even during heavy rains, and the homeowner no longer had to worry about water infiltration. With the crack addressed and proper drainage in place, the space feels safer and more comfortable than ever.
Frampton Home Protected from Basement Water Infiltration
In Frampton, a homeowner was facing a frustrating but common problem, constant humidity and water seeping into their basement. Left untreated, this type of moisture can lead to foundation cracks, mold growth, and damage to valuable living space.
To put an end to these recurring issues, our team at Systèmes Sous-sol Québec installed the WaterGuard® interior drainage system along the basement’s perimeter. This system efficiently redirects any incoming water toward our TripleSafe™ sump pump, which provides reliable protection even during heavy rainfall or power outages.
For added security during Quebec’s harsh winters, we also included our IceGuard® discharge line, designed to prevent water backup if pipes freeze outside.
Now, this Frampton basement stays dry, healthy, and worry-free all year round. At Systèmes Sous-sol Québec, we provide lasting solutions for basement waterproofing, foundation protection, and humidity control, so homeowners can enjoy their space with complete peace of mind.
Basement Waterproofing in Lac-Drolet, QC
PROBLEM
Our living in Lac-Drolet, was looking to install an exterior French drain to put an end for the persistent moisture problem. After filling out the form on our website, our specialist Nickolas visited our client for a free inspection. Nickolas presented in details a waterproofing solution, including our WaterGuard interior drainage system and our TripleSafe sump pump system. The drainage system proved to be perfectly effective. Additionally, the installation is quick compared to that of the French drain, preserving the landscape around the house as there will be no excavation.
SOLUTION
After receiving approval from our client, we began the work under the supervision of Jawad. As planned, we started by installing the revolutionary WaterGuard drainage system. The drain is placed on the foundation footing, away from mud and dirt to prevent clogging. The infiltrated water will be directly captured by the drain, thanks to the ⅜-inch protruding lip that channels water from the walls directly into the system.
Next, we installed our excellent TripleSafe sump pump system. This system consists of three pumps: The first reliable and efficient 1/3 HP Zoeller pump, the second 1/2 HP Zoeller pump which operates when the first pump needs assistance, and the third backup pump that activates in case of a power outage.
Then, we installed a drainage matting on part of the floor, as the existing floor slab was thin and at risk of causing a moisture problem. Additionally, we installed the CleanSpace Wall membrane on the walls to prevent water vapor from seeping into the basement.
Finally, we connected our interior drain to a discharge line that will lead the water outside. This discharge line includes our patented IceGuard system, designed to eliminate the risk of flooding if this line freezes during cold periods.
