The foundation walls in this house in Verdun region was damaged because of a constant infiltration of water in the crawl space. We tore off those walls and installed steel columns (Smart-Jack) after building cement bases underneath to make the foundation stronger.

In addition, since it was impossible to install a French drain in the area, we have installed our internal drain ‘the SmartPump, sump pump drain system to solve the problem of water infiltration once and for all.

In this residence in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, the crawl space suffered from recurring water infiltration after rain and snowmelt. Stagnant moisture promoted odors and began to weaken some joists, a common problem in crawl spaces where water is neither controlled nor drained effectively.

The space was secured by installing the SmartSump™ crawl space sump pump system, specially designed to maintain a dry and clean environment. Equipped with a Zoeller® main pump, a sump alarm, and compatible with an UltraSump® battery backup pump, the system ensures reliable water infiltration management. To correct floor sagging and stabilize the structure, SmartJack™ adjustable supports were also added, reinforcing the joists and restoring floor stability. The crawl space is now dry, stable, and better protected against humidity fluctuations.

To finish the basement without waterproofing it would have been a bad idea since the risk would have always been present and the water would have infiltrated again and ruined the place.

At the start, we installed the WaterGuard drain under the perimeter of the affected regions. This drain is specially designed to drain the water flowing from the walls, the wall-to-floor, and under-floor joints and redirects it to the pump.

And then we installed The TripleSafe sump pump which is the most efficient pump on the market with 3 existing pumps for more safety.

Finally, we completed this system by installing the IceGuard accessories and LawnScape. The first allows the water to drain even if the pipe freezes in winter and the second lets the water out of the foundation by hiding itself in the grass.
