Problem of persistent water infiltration solved in a basement in Saint-Hilaire-de-Dorset, Quebec
Challenge
A homeowner in Saint-Hilaire-de-Dorset was facing persistent problems in his basement due to moisture and water infiltration. Over time, he noticed an increase in moisture and even slight flooding during heavy rains. This was compromising his storage space and beginning to threaten the overall structural integrity of his home.
During our on-site inspection, conducted by our expert, we identified two main problems:
- Water infiltration through the foundation walls
- Water accumulation on the basement floor
Without proper intervention, these problems could lead to mold growth, material deterioration, and a significant loss of usable space.
Solution
To effectively solve the water infiltration problem, our team installed our WaterGuard subfloor drainage system. This system is placed under the basement slab, just above the footing, allowing it to capture both wall infiltrations and floor leaks before the water reaches the surface. From there, the water is efficiently conveyed to the sump pump for removal.
We also installed our drainage membrane on the floor. This durable, honeycomb-shaped membrane facilitates water flow to the drainage system, preventing moisture from stagnating under the finished space. It works in harmony with the WaterGuard system to maximize drainage efficiency and maintain a dry, comfortable environment in the basement. The project was carried out by our experienced production team, who ensured a clean and precise installation from start to finish.
