    Customer Testimonial

Hi Andrew, I just wanted to give you an update on our basement. People love to give bad news, but I want to give you good news. There is not a drop of water in the basement this year and we have probably had the worst spring on record. I don't know if you remember the job, but your team put in an interior french drain around 3/4 of my basement and dug the sump pit about 1 foot deeper. The interesting part is that there has not been a drop of water in the interior french drain. It seems like digging the sump pit deeper was all that was necessary. Water is pumped out into my front ditch before it ever gets high enough to get into the drain. Now, I can finish my basement with confidence. Thanks for your help. Garnet

This father discovered water infiltrations and damages in his son’s basement in the South-Shore of Montreal. He helped his son find a good company that would have a solution to this problem. While doing his online research, he found many explanations on our website and liked the logic of our interior waterproofing system. M Ghitescu found that the WaterGuard interior drain system and the SuperSump and UltraSump sump pump systems were what they needed. In this video, our client discusses the quality of the relationship he had with our team members from the beginning of the process.

    Customer Testimonial

After ten years living in his home, Nick I. from St. Leonard, Quebec noticed that the basement started to leak, probably because of an extension that was built without proper drainage. He called a few companies in the area for an estimate, but only Basement Systems Quebec offered a complete solution that made sense to him for a number of reasons. First it wouldn't require digging out the foundation from the outside or a lot of excavation from the inside. Installing the exclusive WaterGuard system offered by the company would only require jack hammering a six inch trench along the interior perimeter of the basement walls. The system was also more affordable, but it was the sump pump system with alarm and a battery backup, and the Transferable Lifetime Warranty offered by the company that really convinced Nick that he had the right company and the right products for the job. "Overall we are very satisfied. If someone would come to me and ask me for my advice, without hesitation I would strongly recommend Basement Systems Quebec, because their problems would be solved, they could be assured that there wouldn't be any more water coming into their house, and the service that they would provide would be very good, and they could have the confidence that their are reliable." - explains Nick. "We paid less than we would have paid if we went with another supplier but the work was actually done well and we haven't had a problem ever since. "

    PROBLEM

Mr. Bruno's crawl space was uncovered and created humidity in the rest of the house. The client did not want this to affect his family's health in the long term.

     SOLUTION

Systèmes Sous-sol Québec’s team suggested a solution that guaranteed a dry space all year round. A solution including 3 products; TerraBlock insulation, SmartDrain and CleanSpace encapsulation product.

Our TerraBlock insulation provides a puncture-resistant vapor barrier on all surfaces it covers - one that will not be damaged by water or support the growth of mold, rot, and mildew.

As for the SmartDrain, it is a floor drain installed at the lowest point of the crawl space to intercept water infiltration caused by plumbing leaks.

And finally the CleanSpace will prevent the growth of mold. In addition it is odorless and very safe to use.

Mr. Alex S and his wife owned a house in Gatineau and they were having severe water infiltration problems in their basement every year during spring time, due to the failure of the usual French drain and their old sump pump system.

After contacting many companies that failed to fix their problem, our customers decided to call our company for a free inspection. Following that call, our team estimated their basement and had the perfect solution to solve their problem.

Our professionals suggested the installation of a WaterGuard interior foundation drain and a TripleSafe sump pump. You can see the difference between the existing pump and the one we installed in the picture above.

Now the homeowners are very happy and relaxed since they did not face anymore leaking problems in their basement again.

    PROBLEM

There was a smell of mold upstairs as well as a great humidity was felt in the house of Mr. Jean-Pierre in Saint-Chrysostome, Qc

    SOLUTION

We installed a SmartDrain, 2 SmartJacks, SilverGlow as well as TerraBlock. The client can now enjoy his home, without any unpleasant odors and without having to worry about the stability of the foundation.

A very important element for the installation of SmartJack poles is their engineering base. The geotechnical engineers and the manufacturers of this product, have trained our teams to install the best engineering base for the posts (seen under the post), allowing to dissipate up to 90% the weight that supports the pole.

This crawl space in Hemmingford was not insulated and there was a lot of water leakage and humidity in the area, which was leading to rot and decay that, might eventually weaken structural members and make major architectural repairs necessary.

When we went to check this area, our specialist, therefore, recommended a complete solution to waterproof, isolate, and encapsulate the place.

As a start, we have installed a SmartDrain to collect run-off water at this location and evacuate to the sump pump.

Then we encapsulated the crawl space with the CleanSpace membrane which a vapor barrier and contains an antibacterial additive that prevents the proliferation of bacteria and molds.

And finally, we have installed our SaniDry Cx dehumidifier. This innovative system is small enough to fit into most crawl spaces, while its powerful blowing motor and efficient design allow it to effectively dry a basement.

This has added more usable space to this home and increased its value.

Now our client uses it to store his seasonal items since the air has become dry and of better quality because the CleanSpace vapor barrier membrane contains an antibacterial additive that prevents the formation and proliferation of bacteria and molds and blocks water vapor.

So the air that moves from the crawl space to the upper floors is now healthy.

Over 8 years ago, when Mr. Serge and his family moved to this house, the plan was to address the crawl space problem. For several reasons, Mr. Serge decided to postpone the work, telling himself that it was not a priority and that the problem would perhaps resolve itself.

8 years later, water infiltration was still present and a smell of humidity is now found on the floors. So it was time to fix the situation once and for all.

Our team went to do a complete appraisal of the property, lasting nearly 2 hours. It is essential for us to properly identify the needs of the situation and to address the concerns of the client. When there is water infiltration and affected air quality, it is important to resolve the situation quickly. Our specialist advised Mr. Serge on the combination of the CleanSpace product to insulate the crawl space and a very efficient dehumidifier, the SaniDry.

Mrs. Louise had significant water infiltration in her basement, despite having a sump pump installed. There was water floating on the concrete floor which started to ruin her entire basement. After being suggested by one of our clients about our company, she decided to call us quickly.

    SOLUTION

The expert pump team went for a detailed assessment and explained that having a pump is not enough. It is always suggested to add an UltraSump battery to it to ensure that even during a power outage or if the pump stops running, the customer is protected. The battery provides several hours of additional protection.

Our team had also changed the existing pump for a current and more efficient model.

Our client can know enjoy her basement without the fear that her previous problem might occur again!

Our clients in Beaconsfield had a water infiltration problem due the sump pump overflowing during a big rain. They thought this could happen again, as they only had one pump in the pit and there was no battery backup system. They only knew about there issue when it was too late and the water was already on their basement floor. Also their sump pit was open, causing a lot of humidity in the basement.

As such, our specialist recommended the TripleSafe sump pump system, as this met the clients' needs with features such as 2 main pumps, one battery-operated backup pump, an alarm system and an airtight sump lid to help lower the humidity level in the basement.

Then our SuperSump pump system is connected to the WaterGuard. The SuperSump system is a sump pump liner that is unobtrusive and not bulky. You can put your things on it without being afraid that something will fall in it.
