Humidity Management and Structural Restoration in Sainte-Agathe-De-Lotbiniere, QC
Challenge
In Sainte-Agathe-De-Lotbiniere, our team was called in to address several critical issues in a crawl space: high humidity, persistent odors, poor ventilation, damaged insulation, and progressive deterioration of structural elements. During the inspection, we also observed signs of condensation, wood rot, and sagging floor joists, which were putting increasing pressure on the foundation and compromising the overall stability of the house. These conditions promoted mold growth, reduced energy efficiency, and posed a long-term risk to the structural integrity of the building.
Solution
To ensure the durability and safety of the property, we deployed a comprehensive, coordinated solution tailored to the conditions of the crawl space. The installation of SilverGlo™ thermal insulation improved energy efficiency while helping to control humidity. The CleanSpace® encapsulation system was installed to create a continuous vapor barrier, preventing moisture infiltration and reducing the risk of mold and wood deterioration. A drainage mat was added to effectively redirect water to designated management points and prevent future water accumulation in the crawl space. Finally, the SmartJack® structural support system stabilized the weakened beams, corrected floor sagging, and restored the load-bearing capacity of the structure, thereby enhancing the safety and longevity of the foundation.
The crawl space now enjoys a healthier, drier, and more stable environment, with a reinforced structure and significantly improved overall performance, providing the owner with a secure foundation for years to come.
