Challenge
The homeowner was experiencing consistently cold floors throughout the home, a common sign of inadequate crawl space insulation and uncontrolled moisture. During our inspection, our System Design Specialist identified that the crawl space lacked proper thermal protection and humidity control. Excess moisture in crawl spaces can contribute to mold growth, unpleasant odors, poor air quality, and higher energy costs. The homeowner needed a long-lasting solution that would improve comfort while protecting the home from future moisture-related issues.
Solution
To permanently address the problem, our production team completed a full crawl space encapsulation and insulation system. We first installed CleanSpace Drainage Matting to promote proper water drainage beneath the system. Next, we applied the CleanSpace vapor barrier to seal and protect the crawl space environment. SilverGlo™ insulation panels were then installed along the walls to improve thermal efficiency and help keep floors warmer year-round.
For added protection, we installed the SmartDrain system beneath the encapsulation liner to quickly detect and redirect water from potential plumbing leaks into the drainage system before damage could occur. Finally, the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to maintain healthy humidity levels below 55%, creating a dry and healthier crawl space environment. The completed system now provides the homeowner with improved comfort, better energy efficiency, and long-term protection against moisture and humidity.
