Transforming a damp crawl space into a clean, insulated area in Laurierville, Quebec

In Laurierville, this crawl space had several common issues: high humidity, condensation, persistent odors, cold air infiltration, icy floors, and the risk of mold caused by exposed soil and uninsulated walls. To permanently resolve the situation, three complementary solutions were implemented: a drainage membrane to manage water at the base, followed by the installation of the CleanSpace vapor barrier to block moisture and sanitize the space, and then the addition of SilverGlo insulation panels on the walls, a rigid insulation offering an R-value of 11, low thermal conductivity, and a reflective surface that reflects heat back into the interior; Today, the crawl space is dry, clean, and better insulated, contributing to greater comfort and improved energy efficiency throughout the home.

Insulate a crawl space in 3 steps in Ham-Nord, Qc

Mr. Dallaire has lived in his house since 2008. Over time, he noticed that the humidity level in his house was very high, a foul odor was present in the rooms of the house and there were traces of mold in some area of the place. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec, because he was no longer comfortable in his house and wanted to fix the situation quickly.

Mr. Dallaire had never been in his crawl space since he bought the house and yet it was the cause of all his problems.

Our experts went to the site to isolate the crawl space.

1. They first installed SilverGlo insulation panels on the crawl space walls.

2. Next they installed 3/4 inch TerraBlock insulation sheets. These sheets are installed on the ground and adjust according to the ground and will  insulate the crawl space. SilverGlo Panels and Terrablock Sheets combined together are the ideal option for achieving the best possible energy efficiency. You will keep the cold outside and the heat inside your crawl space!

3. To finalize the whole thing, they put our CleanSpace membrane to cover and protect the Terrablock and thus provide an isolated and dry environment.

With this solution, the customer was able to notice very quickly that the humidity in his house had decreased considerably and the unpleasant smell was gone. Not to mention that he now had a clean, dry crawl space!

Complete crawl space repair in Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent, Quebec

In Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent, this crawl space without ventilation was a source of moisture, mold, pests, and structural deterioration, as well as a factor in increased energy costs and the spread of allergenic spores indoors. We therefore treated it with the CleanSpace encapsulation system, a durable, thick membrane combining several layers of high-density reinforced polyethylene, designed to effectively block moisture while making the space usable, sometimes even bright thanks to its reflective surface. To restore the stability of the floor, we also deployed our SmartJack support system, consisting of corrosion-resistant galvanized steel supports, custom-fitted to support the weakened joists. This integrated solution now provides a dry, structurally insulated crawl space that is energy efficient.

Putting in Place our FlexiSpan System in Saint-Severin-De-Beauce, Quebec

After inspecting a crack within the basement of a house in Saint-Severin-De-Beauce, we installed our FlexiSpan system as a permanent solution. The FlexiSpan system is a smart and lasting way to seal foundation cracks and stop water infiltration. Unlike regular sealants that can dry out and crack over time, FlexiSpan stays flexible, so it moves with your foundation instead of breaking. The system works in three steps: a special sealant fills the crack, a foam strip directs any water away, and a waterproof coating adds extra protection. This way, even if your foundation shifts a little, your basement stays dry! Our client was satisfied with the outcome as he finally found someone to take good care of the cracks in his basement!

Reinforcing foundation walls in Pont-Rouge, Qc

Mr. Boivin discovered this year that he had a problem with his house foundation. One of its walls was curved in the center about 3 ”towards the interior of the basement. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec for a reliable and permanent solution.

The solution for our client was the installation of 5 ArmorLock Carbon straps linked and attached to the joists using our ArmorLock system. CarbonArmor is made of carbon fibers and epoxy and it helps solidify and stabilize cracked or arched foundation walls. When ground pressure forces foundation walls to bend or tilt inward, this is where the ArmorLock system comes in to help. It serves as additional reinforcement as the straps are attached to the ArmorLock system which is attached to the joist. Holding the foundation wall to the ledge joist will prevent soil pressure from pushing the wall inward.

With this system, Mr. Rousseau can have the peace of mind as his foundation wall will not budge.
