A customer-owned cottage in Harrington that needed a lot of work because since the day they bought the house two years ago there have been problems with water infiltration, high humidity, bad odors and unstable foundations that needed to be settled.

So it was time to call our basement experts to fix the situation by installing a system of products designed for the underground environment of a home.

The solution included the following products: SilverGlo Foundation Wall Insulation, EZFlow Soil  Foundation Drain, SmartSump  Pump, CleanSpace Moisture Barrier Membrane, SaniDry Sedona Basement Dehumidifier.

The crawl space is now dry and clean, which significantly improves the quality of the air circulating throughout the house.

Our customer in Harrington was faced with a damp, poorly ventilated crawl space, with areas of mold and unpleasant odors. To solve the problem, we installed a complete CleanSpace encapsulation system, including a drainage membrane to facilitate water evacuation. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was added to maintain optimum humidity levels, and a SmartDrain was also integrated to detect any future plumbing leaks. Today, his crawl space is clean, dry and perfectly protected.

This basement in Mont-Tremblant was very humid due to water infiltration. Mr. Mendez said that he saw mold stains on the walls.

Our client did not have a sump pump system in his basement so we installed a SuperSump sump pump system which includes a 1/2 HP Zoeller cast iron pump as well as a WaterGuard interior French drain. The WaterGuard is laid on the foundation footing all along the walls to collect water from the foundation walls and soil to direct it to the SuperSump.

There is only once cause of all the problems in crawl spaces, which is relative humidity.

When humidity is high it causes mold to grow, and this affects airflow throughout your home and moves the spores in the void to the upper floors of your home.

This is why we needed to encapsulate the crawl space of this customer in Mont-Tremblant.

Our team installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier that stops all the water vapor from the walls or soil, and a SmartSump pump that is designed just for crawl spaces.

The problem

Water infiltration in the crawl space of Mr. Batah's house; an earthen floor that lets moisture out and a non-functional pedestal pump.

The solution

We removed the old pump in order to install our SmartSump sump pump system. We have covered the earthen floor with a drainage membrane that will be able to direct water to the SmartSump and that will add some insulation value. Next, we added a CleanSpace vapor barrier coating on top of the drainage membrane to insulate the earthen floor of the house and block moisture from the floor. Finally, we installed our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier to control the humidity level.
