Basement waterproofing in Saint-Camille, Quebec
Challenge
The persistent moisture problem in the basement of an old house in Saint-Camille, Quebec, was due to a blocked French drain, which was causing water to accumulate. He had noticed that his French drain was no longer performing its function, causing significant infiltration during heavy rains and snowmelt periods. The clogged drain was causing water to accumulate around the foundation, resulting in increased humidity, a greater risk of mold growth and progressive deterioration of exposed materials.
Solution
To solve this problem, we implemented a complete interior waterproofing and humidity control solution. First, we installed our innovative patented WaterGuard system, an interior drainage system that integrates along the perimeter of the wall base. To capture any water infiltration through the foundation walls, we installed a drainage membrane that directs water directly to the WaterGuard drainage system. The water captured by the drainage system is directed to our SuperSump, a reliable and efficient sump pump system, equipped with battery backup to ensure continuous operation, even in the case of a power outage. As a result of this intervention, the basement is now completely protected against water infiltration and in ideal conditions for future finishing work. Not only is the house protected from damp, it also benefits from considerably improved air quality, providing a safe and healthy environment for its occupants.
