Complete waterproofing and insulation of a basement in Saint-Raymond, Quebec
Challenge
The basement of this house in Saint-Raymond faced major moisture-related challenges. The walls were constantly damp, promoting mold growth and threatening the structure of the house. Water infiltration rendered the space unusable and compromised indoor air quality, affecting the comfort and health of the occupants. The accumulation of stagnant moisture posed a serious risk to the durability of the house and required comprehensive intervention to restore a healthy and safe environment.
Solution
To remedy these issues, our team implemented an integrated approach combining several specialized solutions. First, SilverGlo™ wall insulation was installed to improve the basement's energy efficiency, stabilize the indoor temperature, and prevent condensation, thereby reducing the risk of mold. Next, a vapor barrier was installed on the walls to prevent rising damp and water vapor migration from the ground, ensuring a dry and healthy environment. Finally, the WaterGuard® drainage system was installed to collect and efficiently remove infiltrated water, protecting the foundation and ensuring the durability of the space.
After installing these solutions, the basement became a dry, healthy, and comfortable space with better thermal regulation and reliable protection against moisture and mold. This project illustrates the importance of a comprehensive approach to solving moisture problems and ensuring the durability of residential structures.
