Basement waterproofing, moisture control, and foundation protection in Stanbridge East, QC
Challenge
In this Stanbridge East home, the owners were dealing with persistent moisture in the basement, accompanied by water seepage along the walls, condensation, and damp floors after periods of rain. The air was cold and humid, some walls showed signs of mold growth, and the space was becoming difficult to use for storage or living. These signs reflected several common problems: lack of effective interior drainage, lack of thermal insulation in the walls, risk of material deterioration, and reduced interior comfort. Ultimately, the situation could affect the durability of the foundation and the air quality in the house.
Solution
Following our inspection, we implemented a comprehensive interior waterproofing solution. The WaterGuard system was installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect and redirect infiltration water, reducing moisture at the slab level and improving protection for the foundation walls. To enhance overall performance, we added SilverGlo, a thermal and moisture barrier insulation for walls, which limits condensation, improves indoor comfort, and stabilizes surface temperatures. This combination of interior drainage, moisture control, and energy insulation has resulted in a drier, healthier, and more durable basement with better air quality and increased long-term foundation protection.
