The problem

Water infiltration in the crawl space of Mr. Batah's house; an earthen floor that lets moisture out and a non-functional pedestal pump.

The solution

We removed the old pump in order to install our SmartSump sump pump system. We have covered the earthen floor with a drainage membrane that will be able to direct water to the SmartSump and that will add some insulation value. Next, we added a CleanSpace vapor barrier coating on top of the drainage membrane to insulate the earthen floor of the house and block moisture from the floor. Finally, we installed our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier to control the humidity level.

There are many cities like Saint-Zotique along lakes or streams. Although it is very pleasant during hot summers, it also means that the soils bordering these streams are often full of water. Thus, homes that rest on these floors may be infiltrated with water. This was the case of one of our clients in Saint-Zotique. The water that seeped into his crawl space harmed all this space and the air of the house. To solve this problem, we carried out a project of encapsulation and waterproofing to make this environment waterproof and impermeable. Our team inspected his home and decided to install our CleanSpace vapor barrier.

Using the CleanSpace, we were able to provide our customer with a barrier separating the ground from the home. With CleanSpace, we have made a vapor barrier allowing for the house to be protected from humidity that can cause problems like mold and dust mites that can have serious consequences. 

The foundations of this crawl space at Wentworth were threatened by moisture that damaged organic foundations such as pillars and wooden beams. The wet spaces are a favorable place for the proliferation of molds and bacteria.

To solve the problem, we installed galvanized steel support pillars and joists that are not affected by moisture and bacteria. They stabilize the house structure once and for all.
