Mike has been with the company for many years.
Previously to working for Basement Systems Quebec, he had a lot of experience in the construction industry, having been a general contractor. He was specialized in building custom houses, which gave him a great understanding of homes, the way they are built and their environment including basements.
Basement Systems Quebec saw what Mike would add to the company with his joyous aptitude and immediately brought him on board. By sharing his experience with homeowners and explaining the effects of water damage, he can really relate to the homeowner and prevent the problem before it occurs or gets worse.
During his free time, Mike loves sailing.
This client contacted us initially to fix his humidity problem in his crawlspace, but while we were there, we noticed that there was a very large crack in the foundation wall of the crawl space.
We fixed this issue by installing the PowerBrace system. It consists of zinc coated beams and components. PowerBraces utilize a joist reinforcement that distributes the load evenly. The crawl space is now stable and sealed.
The residents of this house in Gatineau suffered from a very high level of humidity, caused by a non-isolated crawl space.
They have also noticed that the floor was sagging which caused them a deep concern.
As you can see in this picture, we have totally encapsulated the crawl space and the foundation.
Our client had recurring water problems cause of the inadequate sump pump system that was installed when he bought the house. We installed the SuperSump, along with an UltraSump battery backup sump pump which alone can pump out 12,000 gallons of water on full charge. This system provided the owner with a long-lasting protection from power outages, sump pump failures, blown fuses, and similar issues.
A client from Pointe-Claire, QC called us to let us know of his concerns about his crawl space. He noticed that moisture was forming on the support beams in his crawlspace and that the beams were sagging.
The experienced specialist Mike Costello went to the client’s house and advised him to install SmartJacks to support the sagging joists as well as to encapsulate his crawl space with a Cleanspace membrane, in order to prevent the humidity problem from persisting.
The customer is now very satisfied with the work of the team and is very reassured.
Many residents in Quebec suffer from water infiltration into their basements and our client in Saint-Constant find out that his existing sump pump was not working properly and the open sump which allowed all the moisture to rise in his basement.
Our team has installed our powerful sump system, the SuperSump, which is equipped with the best features such as a fully sealed sump, holes in the sump to drain water from the ground, a cast iron pump that performs best as well as an alarm that would sound if the water level rose too high in the sump.
This house in Greenfield Park had water infiltration problems coming through the walls of the basement. To solve this issue, we have installed a WaterGuard interior drain, a SuperSump pump, a SaniDry Upright and B to B insulation walls.
A resident of Greenfield Park contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec’in order to have his basement inspected by a specialist. Due to hydro-static pressure, the water that accumulated around the foundation easily seeped through it and ended up on the basement walls and floors.
Our technicians recommended the installation of the WaterGuard interior foundation drain system and the SuperSump sump pump system. Once the installation was complete, our client’s basement was completely waterproofed.
Mrs. Amy T needed to change her sump pump, which was no longer functional since water was accumulating at the bottom of the sump in the basement. After some research on the net, she found Basement Systems Quebec and was impressed by our client’s feedback regarding our sump pump systems.
Our team of specialist has replaced her old sump pump by our company’s SuperSump which one of the top sump pump systems since it has an inside durable layer with more than 100 holes to drain the soil under the slab and keep the water table low, an airtight floor drain, a Waterwatch alarm system for extra protection from water floods, and comes with a Zoeller cast iron 1/3 hp pump which pumps up to 2,200 gallons per hour at a head of 8 feet.
The TripleSafe is our pride! If you live along the water in Boisbriand and, like our client, your basement is subject to water infiltration frequently, it is time to solve this problem once and for all. To do so, you need a sump pump system that can serve as a backup to your basement to protect all your belongings. Our TripleSafe system protects your basement space three times more thanks to the three pumps present in a hermetic and aesthetic double liner. The Zoeller M-53 pump will do most of the pumping during normal conditions. Then, the Zoeller M-98 pump starts when the flow is too fast or when the first pump is not enough for the job. Finally, the UltraSump battery pump takes over during a power failure because it runs on battery power.
We are pleased to have been able to install the TripleSafe sump pump system for one of our customers in Boisbriand so we can protect his basement against the risk of water infiltrations from the river.
This client has contacted us because the water situated around his basement exerts a force so powerful that the water seeps through the floor joists and porous concrete.
In order to solve this problem, our specialist recommended the installation of the WaterGuard internal drain which is more efficient than the installation of an external French drain. With the SuperSump Sump Pump System, water is collected and flushed away from your home to keep it dry at all time.
Our clients had water infiltration in the basement. After many research on the internet they found Systèmes Sous-sol Québec’ and contacted us for a free evaluation.
We have installed the Waterguard internal drain to direct the water to our company’s Supersump pump system.
