Water infiltration and a bowed foundation wall: a comprehensive solution in Saint-Jean-De-Matha, Qc
In Saint-Jean-De-Matha, a homeowner was facing two major problems in his basement: recurring water infiltration and a foundation wall that was bulging inward. To address these concerns, Systèmes Sous-Sol Québec implemented a solution combining interior drainage, moisture control, insulation, and structural reinforcement. The WaterGuard® drain was installed around the perimeter of the foundation to collect water and direct it to the SuperSump® sump pump system, which pumps it out. To better control ambient humidity and help maintain a drier environment, a SaniDry Sedona® dehumidifier was also added. SilverGlo® insulation panels complete the installation by helping to limit heat loss and improve basement insulation. Finally, the PowerBrace® system was installed to reinforce the curved foundation wall and help limit further movement. By combining these various technologies, our team was able to address the challenges of water management and foundation stability through a solution tailored to the home’s specific needs. This approach aims to reduce the risk of water infiltration, better control moisture, and provide increased long-term support for the foundation wall.
