Basement Waterproofing Before & After Photos

This Knowlton client has a basement that is half an unfinished basement and half a crawl space. One of these two parts is an extension which was added after the construction of the house. When our client contacted us, she told us that water was seeping at the joint of the two parts between the space where there is a floor and where there is none.

In order to resolve the problem, we sent our specialist Peter to perform a complete inspection of the basement and crawl space to assess the problem and recommend the best solution that will solve the problem.

So we installed the WaterGuard interior drain system where the foundation was affected by water infiltration. Thus, the water which infiltrates at the junction of the two parts of the basement is intercepted and evacuated before it harms the space. Subsequently, the SuperSump sump pump system is installed in the ground in order to evacuate the water collected by the drain and the water present in the soil which seeks to leave.

Finally, the CleanSpace membrane, which is an ultra-resistant vapor barrier, is installed where water moistens the walls. When the foundation is built using concrete blocks, water infiltrates through the joints between the blocks and the water vapors pass through the pores, which humidifies the space.

PROBLEME

Right in the middle of his basement renovation project, he realized that through all his planning, he hadn't included any waterproofing renovation. This is such an important element to include. Mr Gary wanted us to come to show him the options for an optimal protection. 

SOLUTION

He went with the drainage system WaterGuard, which comes with a lifetime warranty. This solution will protect the entire perimeter of the house, to make sure it captures all the water trying to get in, to then be removed outside of the basement. Mr Gary can now enjoy a dry basement, all year long.  

Our customer who owns a software company in Saint-Etienne-de-Bolton was having problems with water infiltration in his basement that was affecting badly on his work and needed the interference of our company.

PROBLEM

Persistent humidity in the basement is causing unpleasant odors, and mold stains are beginning to appear. Structural issues may arise if no action is taken in the near future.

SOLUTION

As planned, we began by installing the WaterGuard drainage system. The drain is placed on the foundation footing, away from mud and dirt to prevent clogging. Infiltrated water will be directly captured by the drain, thanks to the protruding lip that directs water from the walls directly into the system. Next, we installed our SuperSump sump pump system. This system features a reliable and high-performance 1/3 HP Zoeller cast iron pump, a pump liner, a sealed lid, a CleanPump support, and a WaterWatch alarm. Finally, we connected our interior drain to a discharge line that will lead water outside. This discharge line includes our patented IceGuard system, designed to prevent the risk of flooding in case the line freezes during cold periods.

Water was infiltrating in the joint between the floor and the wall in this basement in Bon-Conseil.

The floor under the floor slab was getting wet, which was evaporating and moistening the concrete, leaving traces. When traces of water are visible, it is because the water has found a way to penetrate your basement.

We solved the problem by installing an interior waterproofing solution consisting of an inside drain that we install on the perimeter of the foundation on the footing, as well as a sump pump system that evacuates the collected water far from your home.
