Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

Whenever we work on the waterproofing and encapsulation of a crawl space, we are happy to see how this space is transformed from an earthen place with moist air into a dry, clean and bright space that can be used for useful purposes. This adds more usable space to your home and increases its value. Not only can you use it to store your seasonal items, but the air becomes dry and of better quality because the CleanSpace vapor barrier membrane contains an antibacterial additive that prevents the formation and proliferation of bacteria and molds and blocks water vapor. Our client complained about a cold and wet crawl space. He felt his floors were very cold and smelled unpleasantly damp. The crawl space was very poorly insulated, cold and humid.

The difficulty our experts faced was isolating an uneven ground. Rigid and inflexible insulation could not have worked there. Our experts installed our 3/4 inch TerraBlock insulation sheets. These sheets are placed on the ground and mold to the ground and allow the crawl space to be isolated. To finalize it,  they coated the TerraBlock with our 20ml thick CleanSpace coating. It is made of a high density polyethylene blend for flexibility and strong strength. The white finish brightens the crawl space and makes it clean.

Thanks to this solution, our client will no longer have cold floors and no foul odor. It will have a dry and clean crawl space!

The problem: This Laval client had a structural problem in her crawl space. These support beams were not adequate so there was a sag at the ceiling of the crawl space.

Solution: Following inspection by our system design specialist Jerry, he suggested installing piles to support the structure we call SmartJacks. They are very sturdy and we can adjust them to be the right height for your crawl space.

In the before photo, you'll see a dark, earthen crawl space in a house built in 1940s on precarious fieldstone, pointing to the struggle against moisture and frost. Problem

Infiltration of water in the crawl space creating humidity, mold and rot on the wood. Hence the humidity made the house less comfortable.

Solution

Encapsulate the crawl space with our CleanSpace drainage membrane and liner on the floor and walls. And then install a SuperSump sump pump system. Humidity will be reduced or even eliminated, and infiltrating water will be expelled outside the house thanks to our SuperSump pump.
