Encapsulating a damp crawl space in Sawyerville, Quebec

In Sawyerville, Quebec, a homeowner faced the challenge of dealing with rotting joists caused by excessive moisture in the crawl space. As you can see in the before photo, the damage was evident, and the need for a solution was pressing. We addressed this issue by installing our CleanSpace Drainage Matting, CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, and SilverGlo Pannels. Our CleanSpace system effectively sealed the space to prevent excess moisture from entering the crawl space, while SilverGlo insulated and added a radiant heat barrier. The after photo showcases a transformed crawl space, ensuring a dry, secure foundation, free from moisture and its harmful effects.

Transforming a damp crawl space into a clean, insulated area in Laurierville, Quebec

In Laurierville, this crawl space had several common issues: high humidity, condensation, persistent odors, cold air infiltration, icy floors, and the risk of mold caused by exposed soil and uninsulated walls. To permanently resolve the situation, three complementary solutions were implemented: a drainage membrane to manage water at the base, followed by the installation of the CleanSpace vapor barrier to block moisture and sanitize the space, and then the addition of SilverGlo insulation panels on the walls, a rigid insulation offering an R-value of 11, low thermal conductivity, and a reflective surface that reflects heat back into the interior; Today, the crawl space is dry, clean, and better insulated, contributing to greater comfort and improved energy efficiency throughout the home.

Complete crawl space repair in Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent, Quebec

In Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent, this crawl space without ventilation was a source of moisture, mold, pests, and structural deterioration, as well as a factor in increased energy costs and the spread of allergenic spores indoors. We therefore treated it with the CleanSpace encapsulation system, a durable, thick membrane combining several layers of high-density reinforced polyethylene, designed to effectively block moisture while making the space usable, sometimes even bright thanks to its reflective surface. To restore the stability of the floor, we also deployed our SmartJack support system, consisting of corrosion-resistant galvanized steel supports, custom-fitted to support the weakened joists. This integrated solution now provides a dry, structurally insulated crawl space that is energy efficient.

In Lingwick, QC, the owner of a 1903 stone foundation home struggled with a damp, humid crawl space only 3–6 feet high. Concerned about air quality and structural stability, they knew encapsulation was the solution.

After installing CleanSpace® drainage matting and vapor barrier, SmartSump® with IceGuard® and LawnScape™, SaniDry™ Sedona, SmartJack® supports, an EverLast™ door, and SilverGlo® insulation, the crawl space is now dry, stable, and energy-efficient; bringing lasting comfort and protection to the home.

Crawlspace encapsulation in Disraeli, QC

PROBLEM

Our client, living in Disraeli, was having problems with his crawl space. In fact, his house is located on the edge of a lake. Thus he had difficulty heating his crawl space. In addition, there was excess humidity, which damaged the air quality in the house.

Our customer visited our website and filled out the form for a free inspection. Our specialist Alain entered the crawlspace for a detailed inspection. He directly noticed the excess humidity through the efflorescence stains on the walls. In addition, there was a bad smell. Alain explained to our client that the solution lies in the encapsulation of the crawlspace, indicating that a crawlspace in such state is very harmful for the house's residents, and on the other hand, it could cause structural damage in the near future.

SOLUTION

The encapsulation of the crawl space consists of installing our CleanSpace system, including two types of covering on the floor: The first drainage membrane equipped with "honeycomb" spaces to be able to retain infiltrated water, and the second membrane will act as a vapor barrier for not allowing  moisture to spread.

Additionally, our revolutionary SilverGlo thermal insulation is installed on crawlspace walls to prevent air from escaping, and subsequently losing temperature.

Finally, our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier is installed as an additional tool to control humidity.
